What is the Connected Community Approach?
The Connected Community Approach (CCA) is an innovative and practical framework that enables people, organizations, businesses and institutions to strategically and effectively contribute to the health and resilience of their local communities. CCA focuses on strengthening the social fabric of communities, thereby making it possible to bridge divides, collaborate across sectors and scales and engage in coordinated strategies, plans and actions to address the complex issues of our time, like climate change, economic inequities, racism and discrimination.
What We Offer
Our workshops, webinars, courses and learning journeys are designed to support you to leverage your mission, talent and strategies to help make transformative change possible in communities. They are curated and led by Catalysts' Circle team members and draw on the strengths of community development theories, such as asset-based community development, complexity theory, systems theory and collective impact.
Turtle Island (North America) has been home since time immemorial to the ancestors of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. This land is foundational to our existence. We are grateful for Indigenous stewardship of this land and recognize that we all have a lot to learn from Indigenous ways of knowing and being. We acknowledge that many people, predominantly the ancestors of many Black Canadians, were brought to this land against their will in the transatlantic slave trade and also acknowledge that we live in a country with a dark and violent past. We commit to continuously educating ourselves so that we can be in right relationship with the land, Indigenous peoples and all people who have been harmed by colonial and white supremacist policies and practices.
May we approach our work in ways that craft a new narrative for the future; a narrative that is built on humility, honesty, empathy and justice for our planet and all the people who reside here.
